I watched a documentary a few years ago called American Beaver. Besides having a title that sounds like a porn movie it was extremely fascinating. Beavers are pretty cool creatures.

Fascinating animals. I have a fur hat from a beaver that is maybe 50 years old. That thing is so warm in winter that you can’t wear it unless the temp is about 10 below F.

Time to be slightly pedantic: Beavers don’t live in the dam, but usually in a separate house. The dam itself is usually just a solid wall of mud and sticks, while the house has the living chamber inside. Both however are impressive structures, and I’ve spent quite a bit of time using either to cross water.
